Jack is, as I have mentioned before, highly motivated by money. He has been working and saving up to buy a new little Lego set recently. Once he has been saving for a while and can't stand to wait any longer, he gets on Lego.com and finds what he wants. Then he has me open a new window for Amazon.com and he starts checking prices until he finds what is "in his budget." I love this because it teaches him to have a pretty good understanding for a six-year-old what the value of a dollar is. Also, he learns how to research a purchase to find the best deal. Once he made his decision to buy a fire truck Lego, the waiting for delivery began. He was pleasantly surprised to have his package arrive before the 5-8 day estimated time for delivery. At one point during the week UPS made a delivery for Targhee and Jack was pretty deflated to see someone else's name on the package. Jack is now assembling it in the living room with help from his brothers. He has put Evan in charge of guarding the parts while he is at school today. Drew just likes looking at the instructions and saying, "Reeaar. Fire Truck."

I love that you teach them to save. We do this with our kids and they seem to appreciate things a little bit more. The boys are so dang cute!!
This post cracks me up for some reason! What a good little money manager...and I can just picture Evan guarding the parts. Loved all your other recent posts too, Jules! I'm surprised how much Drew looks like a combo of Jack & Evan now that he's getting older. Can't wait to see you on Monday!
