Spring Break, Beaver Dam
Maybe MTV hasn't yet caught on to the idea of moving their spring break celebrations to Beaver Dam, Arizona, but we have. I don't know if Beaver Dam is ready for MTV, however, since the mean age is around 70. Targhee's grandparents have a winter place there and it proved to be the perfect base camp for our little family vacation. The first night we were there Drew kept us up all night with a nasty ear infection, but we got into the doc the next day and got it taken care of. We met Jared and Jen and their boys on Saturday for some hiking fun in Snow Canyon, just outside of St. George. It was the perfect day for digging at the sand dunes (we are still finding red sand in every nook and cranny of the car, clothes, everywhere.) We went on a couple of fun hikes and had a great time together. Aunt Jen is wonderful. She even let Jack borrow one of her socks when he didn't put his back on before the hike and got a hot spot on his foot. Of course shortly thereafter he jumped into a puddle while wearing her sock. Sorry, Aunt Jen. Sunday we spent enjoying the day with Targ's grandparents and listening to conference. It was a beautiful day and so nice to be with Gram and Papa Jack. Monday we were ready to hit Zion National Park and the weather was terrible. We were still going to do it, though. We got there, and even rode the shuttle to the top of the canyon, but after two short hikes we were freezing and the wind was blinding us. Little Jack was not happy about the fact that we were putting him through that, so we spent the rest of the day seeing the sights from the car. Targhee took some great pics panorama-style that follow. It was a fun little vacation for our family. Plus, Targhee had no cell phone reception for 4 days which was delightful.

Beautiful pics, Jules! Glad you guys got to get away. You're such a fun and ACTIVE family - envious of your outdoor adventures. :) And I'm glad Targhee (and you) got a break from his cell...sometimes I wish I'd never gotten one.
Love the pics!! Drew is getting so big and is totally looking like the other boys!!
We had so much fun with you guys! I wish the boys were able to spend more time together.
