Our Friend Robby

This week has been a busy one for Targhee. Teresa Gunn, a ward member who Targhee has worked closely with for the last three years passed away. Targhee was the one to arrange all of the funeral details and to help coordinate all of the people who will be needed to help her son Robby, who will be living on his own now. Robby has an amazing attitude about his mom's death. He is a great example to all of us and it has been a blessing for our ward to be able to get to know him. I know that Targhee appreciates all the families in our ward who have had Robby over for dinner this week and also those people who have helped him with the details of the funeral. Even though our lives are pretty crazy with Targhee serving as the Bishop, we have had so many wonderful opportunities to learn from great people like Robby and his mom. Also, Robbie beat the pants off Targhee in Wii Bowling. That guy can bowl!

Liz and I went over to his house last night to get pictures of him and his mom for the funeral. He told me Jesus took his mom and that he has to be brave. It was killer! Believe me, the tears were a-flowin'! Your hubby is an amazing guy for all he's done.

My heart is with you guys, and Robby. Last spring, a man in our ward (Todd's age)died of cancer. The saddest part about it was his wife had passed away from cancer 4 years earlier. They left two children. A daughter Jesse's age, and a son David's age. Heartwrenching. It sounds like Robby is in a good place in your loving ward.

You just gotto love Robby! There is so much to love about him. I think he did great at the funeral, but what got me was at the end I saw him walk out with tears in his eyes. His disability makes it easier for him to cope than others, but seeing him sad just pulled at my heart. He will do great even though she's gone...I guess we just have to keep him bowling!

I will have to have Robbie over for some Wii bowling. Parker has achieved professional status in bowling so it would be fun for them to face off. Parker even prayed for Robbie in his prayers saying "bless our family to do everything we can for Robbie."
